The Ingres museum occupies the old bishop’s palace of Montauban, built from thirteenth to seventeenth century and entirely listed as historical monument (interior and exterior). The cultural wealth of the museum emanates from the collection of works of Ingres and Bourdelle, both natives of Montauban.

The project of renovation has to enable the reconsideration of the circulation, the museography and to assure the accessibility for personnes with restricted mobility.

This intervention concerns also the renovation of the external envelop (façades and ceiling) and the court of honor. Our mission focuses on the specific treatment of each space according to its function so as to distinguish the museography space.
