Studio D A P has carried out a design study of a light acoustic shell as part of the studies of the Châtelet Theater to provide them the venue with a lightened concert decoration device in order to facilitate alternances during productions.

This set should play the acoustic role of an acoustic shell, allowing a better mutual listening between musicians and a better perception of the whole in the conductor spot.

For this purpose, Studio D A P’s acoustic mission has had several objectives:

  • To propose a solution based on materials both light and acoustically efficient.
  • Give advice on the arrangement of the device and its dimensions.
  • Give advice on the arrangement of the orchestra, for an alternation of the stage in order to make the most of the acoustic point of view of the orchestral arrangement.
